Consent before anything
A parent reads and signs first.
Every account starts with a real, typed-signature parental-consent step — no dark patterns, no pre-checked boxes. Read the COPPA Direct Notice and Children’s Privacy Policy for the exact wording shown to parents.
Before your child uses Lantern, the full direct notice required by COPPA is available from the live parent portal. The legal library always has the current version when those notices change.
Parent control
See, export, pause, or request deletion.
From Parent sign-in, you can see or export your family’s data, and request deletion, whenever you want, and pause Lantern any time. The Privacy Policy has the full details on how those controls and requests work.
Your information is encrypted in transit and never sold. We don’t run ads. These are the same commitments you’ll find in our published policies — not a separate marketing version.
